1. What are the event fields?
Event fields (formerly called "event attributes") are custom fields that you can use to highlight information for your attendees on the booking page, categorize events, or offer PDF documents for download on the booking page. You can freely define these fields when you create an event and store them for one or all events.
There are public fields that can be visible to your attendees on the booking page and control fields that are not visible to attendees and can be used internally for business event management. The public fields will be displayed to your attendees on the doo official event website, in the event widget with event information and - except for the download field - also in the event calendar widget. In the latter, they can also be filtered using the full-text search.

2. How do I create templates for event fields?
Templates for event fields allow you to create and manage frequently used event fields centrally for your entire organization. To do this, navigate to your organization settings and select the "Events" tab. You can access the organization settings by clicking on the cogwheel on the right side of the header column of your manager app.
Under the tab Events you will find an overview of all event fields you have created so far. Click on "New event field" to create this field. In the window that appears, define the name and type of your new field. You can create the field either as a free text field ("Text input"), as a download link ("File download" - possible file types: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, pdf, xls, xlsx, doc, docx, ppt, pptx, odt, ods, odp, txt) or as a list with options ("Selection"). You can also specify whether the field should be included by default in all events created later. You also have the option to use the event field only for internal processes and not to display it in the booking process. By clicking on the pencil in the line of an event field you can edit it. Here you can edit all units except the field type.
Tip: All event field types can later be included in e-mail messages. Files can additionally be attached to the automatic event emails under "Email contents".
3. How do I create event fields in my event?
You can create the event fields in step 1 of the event creation under "Advanced settings". Click on "Add event field" under "Custom event fields" and go to "Select event field".
Here you can either add an event field from a centrally defined template or create a new event field. If you decide to use a template, you can now define the individual content for this event.
If you decide to create an event field only for this event, then you also define here the field name, field types and whether the field should only be used internally or also externally. This field is only valid for this event and does not appear in the event fields template overview.
4.How do I include event fields in emails?
Since November 2020, event fields can easily be included in emails using placeholders. This is possible for all text-based fields that have been saved as templates, but not for downloadable PDFs or similar. The following sections explain how to include event fields in emails.
4.1 Include event fields in system e-mails
Perform the usual steps necessary to customize the contents of system e-mails. Information about this can be found here.
When you are in edit mode for the desired system email, select "Placeholder" in the edit bar. Your event field is now included in the list of placeholders and can be inserted into the email text.
4.2 Including event fields in email messages
How to create email messages for campaigns and define the content is explained here.
You can use the event fields in any text field. To do this, click on "Personalization" and select your event field from the list that appears. The system will respond to the event field as it would to any placeholder.
4.3 Event field as attachment to an e-mail message
You can send an event field with field type "File" as an attachment to an e-mail message.
To do so, go to the dispatch settings of the e-mail and activate the checkbox "File from own event field as attachment".
